Hi stampers,

Well here it is….a few days late but here at last! This is a sample of what I’m doing at my first stamp club meeting due to start this sat 1st August. Each month you will learn a new technique and then you will get to make your own free samples. For this particular card I’ve sponged over a piece of glossy card in regal rose and then stamped the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral in versamark ink.  Then I embossed it with a layer of heat and stick followed by dazzling diamonds. Then I’ve mounted it onto a piece of kiwi kiss dsp and used pink pirourette for the base. Then a bit of kiwi ribbon and a pink rhinestone and voila it’s done!

So if you’re in the Albany area and would like to come along just send me an email.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Deb.

Okay so it’s been a while! The story of my life lately!!! However I have had 3 little darlings running around my house for the past 2 1/2 weeks (4 days to go!) and it seems that whenever I am housebound with the kids I always plan to get so much done and then I never really achieve anything! So this time I realized early on that it just wasn’t going to happen so I finally decided to let go of all expectations and admit to the world that I am not superwoman!!! However if anyone has her email I would dearly love to know how to run a house, keep 3 kids happy when it’s cold and wet outside, save the day and still have energy left to burn!…Anyone???

Seriously though I have made a few things over the past couple of weeks and I’ll post them on here as soon as I have a chance but for now I thought I’d show you this card that I made for my 8 year old son’s friend last weekend. He went to his first sleepover party since starting at his new school and he was SOOOOOOOOO excited! Anyway……it’s not often that I stamp with a non SU! stamp nowadays but I’ve used an old Stamp It stamp as the boys play on the same football team! I’ve used my pastels and blender pens to colour it in (team colours of course!) and then I’ve used a versamarker pen (thanks Carole!!!!!) and a dauber with chalk to do the clouds!

Stay tuned for more holiday creations….Happy Stamping everyone!

This is the mojo monday sketch for the week. I will be back later to show you my creation!

 DSC_0240

Okay so here it is as promised! My very first mojo monday! I have used the Dreams du Jour set which I have stamped in basic grey and baha breeze. The grey butterflies have been stamped off once before being stamped onto the white cardstock.  I’ve also used basic grey and baha breeze cardstock along with a strip of the baha breeze d.s.p. The really great thing about all the bits of paper and cardstock was that I already had them cut up and hiding away in my stash. The only thing I had to cut was a tiny little piece off the polkadots as it was just a wee bit too long! Don’t you just love it when that happens! So that’s it for now.

Happy stamping everyone,

 Deb.

X-mas in July!

Hi Stampers,

Wow 2 posts in one day! Over the past couple of days I’ve been chatting to some old friends from the U.S. who I’ve just reconnected with. (I’m facebooks new #1 fan!!!) And as many of you would be aware in the U.S they celebrate July 4th in grand style. I’m talking the whole hog here…….food, family and celebrations galore!!! It’s an amazing day which I can tell you in truth because I was lucky enough to witness it once a few years back (actually it was 16 years ago but who’s counting!) It was such an awesome experience that it has always stayed in my mind. So anyway… while I was thinking about all those lucky Americans having all of the fun I decided to have some fun of my own! It’s not quite the same but since I couldn’t exactly pack my bags and jump on a plane I came up with this card instead. It’s my x-mas in July card! I’ve only used the colours from the bella rose d.s.p partly as a bit of a challenge for myself but mostly just because they are gorgeous colours and I LOVE them!!!   I’ve used the Season of Joy stamp set. I’ve also used the new riding hood red taffeta ribbon, the border eyelet punch to make that gorgeous scallop edge and a   flower brad for bling!  Feel free to leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Hi everyone,

Recently I helped out with a program at my kids school and I wanted to share with you what we actually did. I helped about 25 girls to make cards for African widows. These widows deserved these cards and so much MORE!!! All of their husbands had been killed not only for their faith but in front of their families as well! Now I just couldn’t image living through a nightmare like that so when I heard about it I just had to help out. I donated my time and some supplies and the result was all of these amazing cards made by girls as young as 13! Hopefully when they are received the recipients will know that they are not alone and there are people out there who care for them. We have so much freedom here in Australia and the rest of the western world that we sometimes forget what hardships others must go through just to survive. So I hope you will keep these women and others like them in your prayers!

Happy stamping!

So here are a couple of cards that I recently made for my secret sister as part of a group that I’m in over on splitcoast stampers. She is not supposed to know who I am just yet so if she has figured it out hopefully she isn’t peeking as her parcel probably hasn’t quite made it to her yet!

I’ve used the cute “trendy trees” stamp set. I’ve also used good morning sunshine d.s.p on both cards. The top card has a base of pacific point cardstock with the trees mounted onto riding hood red and choc chip card with some striped riding hood red ribbon to spice it up. The greeting is from the hostess set “Best Yet”. The bottom one is made from kiwi kiss cardstock with the trees mounted on riding hood red card and some choc chip d.s.p (from the bella rose pack). Then there is some riding hood red tafetta ribbon across the top and also a couple of antique brads at the base for bling! The greeting on this one is also from the “trendy trees” set. We received this set for free at convention and I wasn’t too sure if I loved it at first but it really is a fun set to play with! That’s it from me I hope you all are keeping warm. I’ve got my fire stoked up but it’s been raining all day and night and it’s freezing. So I’m off to rug up in front of the tv. (I can’t wait for spring!)

Happy Stamping!

Okay now before I forget my manners I have to say a special thank-you to Amy Waters. She is another SU! demo who I turned to for help this past weekend when I could not for the life of me get that little catalogue picture onto my blog. So Amy if you’re reading this thanks again and I’m sending you a big hug! I’ll think of you with a smile everytime I look at that lovely little picture!  Smiles

Hi There Stampers!

Well this is my colour challenge that I did a few weeks ago. The set colours were summer sun, kiwi kiss and tangerine tango. Now what I LOVE about a challenge is this. It takes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to try something new. You see it and think there’s just no way in the world that I can make anything decent with that, but you give it a go, you end up with a creation of some kind, and then you have a good look at what you’ve made. Then you realise that it really did work and it doesn’t look half bad! Which is exactly what happened here! I HATE using yellow and I saw this colour challenge and knew that it would NEVER work for me, but I was determined to at least attempt it and this was the result! Feel free to leave me a comment and tell me what you think of the yellow monster!

Happy Stamping!

sketch challenge

Okay so here is another one of my sketch challenge entries that I’ve been meaning to upload since my first one. I’m part of a yahoo group called Stampin’ Up! Oz Style which you can also join if you are a demonstrator. Anyway a few weeks ago the lovely Lisa who runs the group set a heap of challenges for us to do. Well I can’t resist a challenge so I just had to give them a go. I wasn’t too sure about this one at first because there are alot more bits to it than what I’d normally put on a card. I’ve used choc chip for the base, a strip of cocoa at the top and bottom, sweet always d.s.p down the middle, some more choc chip under the hearts and a tiny strip of blush blossom at the top and regal rose ribbon with antique gold brads. The stamp set is the lovely “Always” and for a card that has so many bits it went together really quickly. And I was even happy with how it turned out which isn’t always the case especially when your using such a strict layout! I also did one of the colour challenges which I will show you next time!

Thanks for looking,

Deb.

Deb's Sketch challenge

Hello stampers. Welcome to Deb’s Designs! This is my place for sharing my creations with my friends, my customers and anyone else who is interested enough to look at what I’ve made! For my first entry I’ve uploaded a pic of  a sketch challenge that I made last weekend. I have used the Bella Rose designer paper (which I LOVE!!!) and teamed it with the gorgeous Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I’ve used the gorgeous new border eyelet punch to get that stunning edge under the centrepiece. Then I’ve added some kiwi kiss satin ribbon for bling and a cute little in colour button tied with linen thread.

Happy Stamping,

Deb!
